Overview

Calorify is purpose-built to help users correct the caloric imbalance and
make personalized recommendations to turn excess into progress.

problem

Many users rely on calorie-counting apps to maintain a deficit for weight loss but often exceed their set limits. While these apps track total intake, including “cheat meals,” they fail to offer adjustments or guidance to help users restore calorie deficit.

solution

After exceeding the daily caloric intake, the app will
calculate the excess amount and adjust the daily caloric allowance for the
remainder of the week to help the user restore calorie deficit.

The study was conducted using questionnaires distributed to fitness trainers, forums and Facebook groups focused on proper nutrition and calorie tracking.

Although MyFitnessPal is excellent for tracking my food intake, I
often find myself exceeding the calorie limit I set for myself.

Maya leads a busy lifestyle due to her demanding job and caring
for her three children. She has always been health-conscious, but
her hectic schedule makes it challenging to maintain a healthy
diet, manage her weight, and prevent weight gain. Determined to
stay on track with her goals, Maya decided to download an app
to support her efforts.

User Interface

During the interface design process, I addressed the main problem: exceeding daily calorie intake.
Additionally, I simplified the interface to ensure it is easy for popular trainees to understand and
free from overwhelming quantitative and visual data.

home page

Track your daily calorie intake, enter your meals and
workouts, and identify if you’re close to going over
your limit.

Search & Selection

Scan a food item or barcode, or manually search for a food item in the search bar to log your meal. Select the option that best suits your needs, remember, the blue checkmark ensures reliability!

Confirmation

Enter serving size and number to see nutritional
data and confirm adding the serving to the log.

you exceeding daily calorie intake? don’t worry
about that, we’ll change all the goals throughout
the week to get you back into Calorie deficit.

Self Reflection

Assuming the product was real, it would include guidance by a nutritionist for
monitoring progress and setting personalized weekly and daily goals. Another
goal is to allow beginner nutritionists to gain professional experience through the
app while providing users with affordable guidance.
